🌱 NUTRITIVE on the Road: Highlights from Our Post-Summer Conference Sprint
Since September, NUTRITIVE partners have been sharing our progress and insights on sustainable manure management and circular agri-food systems at several international conferences across Europe. Here’s a look at the key events where our consortium has been active.
AINIA at ECCE & ECAB (CIBIQ 2025)
At the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE) and 8th European Congress of Applied Biotechnology (ECAB), held within CIBIQ 2025, Adriana Pacherres Ato (AINIA) presented a flash talk introducing NUTRITIVE.
Her session explored how biotechnological innovations can reduce nutrient losses, valorise organic residues, and promote a more circular and resource-efficient agri-food sector.

AINIA at the International Bioenergy Congress 2025
AINIA also participated in the International Bioenergy Congress, where they highlighted how bioenergy solutions and nutrient recovery technologies can drive circularity and sustainability in European agriculture — key goals of the NUTRITIVE project.
Their participation reinforced the role of biotechnology as a bridge between energy recovery and nutrient recycling, essential to reducing environmental impact in livestock and food systems.
Teagasc at the Nitrogen Pillar Workshop 2025
At the Nitrogen Pillar Workshop hosted by Teagasc, Dr. Nima Nejadrezaei presented “Sustainable Manure Management” on behalf of NUTRITIVE.
The talk focused on how the project aims to tackle pollution from livestock farming by developing a Decision Support System (DSS) to promote efficient, data-driven manure management.
Teagasc’s contribution also covered:
-
Mapping and analysing current manure management practices across Europe
-
Understanding farmer perspectives and adoption barriers
-
Designing a conceptual framework for sustainable technologies
-
Building technical guidelines to inform EU policy and farm-level decision-making
ATB Potsdam at RAMIRAN 2025
ATB Potsdam (represented by Wajid Umar and Barbara Amon) presented a poster titled “Innovative decision-making tool for defining the most suitable manure management strategies to achieve a sustainable livestock farming system during the whole value chain (NUTRITIVE)”.
Their contribution focused on the assessment of air pollutants — integrating emission data from case study farms and the DATAMAN database to model ammonia (NH₃) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This research helps identify cost-effective mitigation strategies and supports the creation of technical guidelines aligned with the EU’s sustainability targets.
A Collective Effort for a Sustainable Future
Together, these events illustrate how NUTRITIVE partners are advancing the conversation on sustainable manure management, circular economy, and climate-neutral livestock farming.
By integrating scientific research, technological innovation, and stakeholder engagement, the project continues to generate valuable insights that will shape Europe’s transition toward zero-pollution agricultural systems.
